DAY BEFORE PROCEDURE:

ADD 1 GALLON OF WATER TO POWDER AND MIX. FOR A BETTER FLAVOR YOU MAY MIX CRYSTAL LIGHT PACKAGES FROM THE GROCERY STORE! REGULAR LEMONADE OR PINK LEMONADE HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED!

 

BREAKFASTSLICES WHITE BREAD (TOAST) MAY ADD HONEY, (NO JAMS, NO SEEDS) OR CEREAL (SPECIAL K, CORN FLAKES) ORINSTANT GRITSEGGS OR PLAIN YOGURT, NO FRUIT!

LUNCH AND SUPPER: SANDWICH WITH WHITE BREAD MAY HAVE MAYO, WITH MEAT AND CHEESE ONLYWHITE PASTA OR NOODLES WITH BUTTER ONLY!

SNACKS:  SALTINE CRACKERS, APPLE SAUCE, ICE CREAM, ANGEL FOOD CAKE, HARD CANDY, JELLO,POPSICLES,(NO RED OR PURPLE)

DRINKSSOFT DRINKS, TEA, COFFEE, GATORADE, POWERADE,(NO RED OR PURPLE)

DO NOT EATFRUITS, NUTS, WHOLE WHEAT (BREAD, RICE, AND PASTA), AND NO VEGETABLES!

AT 3:00PM: TAKE DULCOLAX TABLETS WITH LARGE GLASS OF WATER! (GET LAXATIVE NOT STOOL SOFTNER) BUY THE OVER THE COUNTER!

AT 4:00PM:  Start drinking Colyte and drink an 8oz glass every 30 minutes until ¾ of gallon complete.  You should have ¼ of the gallon or (2)8oz glasses left to drink at 3:00a.m the morning of your test.

NOTHING TO EAT/DRINK AFTER MIDNIGHT EXCEPT 2ND DOSE OF PREP!

 

DAY OF PROCEDURE

AT 3:00AM: DRINK REMAINDER OF COLYTE

BE SURE NOT TO DRINK ANYTHING ELSE AFTER 4:00AM!

TAKE ANY HEART, BLOOD PRESSURE, OR SEIZURE MED. WITH A SMALL SIP OF WATER.

IF YOU ARE A DIABETIC, AND YOU TAKE INSULIN TAKE ½ YOUR USUAL DOSE, IF YOU TAKE A SUGAR PILL, HOLD IT UNTIL YOU GET HOME.

BRING A LIST OF YOUR MEDS WITH YOU TO YOUR PROCEDURE.

BRING SOMEONE TO DRIVE YOU HOME! YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE FOR 12HRS AFTER YOUR TEST!

IF YOU DO NOT BRING SOMEONE TO DRIVE YOU THEN YOUR TEST WILL BE RESCHEDULED!  

TAXI’S AREN’T ALLOWED!

  • If you are taking IRON supplements you must stop 7 days before your procedure.

  • Pour (1) one 6oz bottle of Suprep liquid into the mixing container. Add cold drinking water to the 16oz red line on the container and mix. Drink the full 16oz fo mixture.
  • Drink 2 more FULL 16 ounces of water.

 

NOTHING ELSE TO DRINK AFTER 4:00 AM

  • Take any heart, blood pressure or seizure medication with a small sip of water.
  • If you are diabetic and you are taking insulin, take 1/2 of your usual dose the morning of your test. If you are taking a pill, just hold it until you get home from your test.
  • Bring a list of your medications.
  • Bring someone to drive you home or you will not be able to have your test!

 

You will be at least 2 hours. 
Your driver does not need to leave you.

MoviPrep For Colonoscopy

 

You will need to purchase a 3 oz bottle of Fleet Phospho-Soda and Dulcolax tablets. No prescription is necessary to buy these medications. The cost of these over the counter medications is approx. $1. - $2.

DAY BEFORE PROCEDURE

BREAKFAST: 2 slices of WHITE bread (toast). May add honey (no jams, no seeds), or CEREAL (Special K, Corn Flakes) or INSTANT GRITS, EGGS or PLAIN YOGURT. NO FRUIT!

 

LUNCH & SUPPER: Sandwich with WHITE bread with meat and cheese ONLY. WHITE pasta or noodles with BUTTER ONLY!

 

SNACKS: Saltine crackers, apple sauce, ice cream, angel food cake, hard candy, jello, popsicles. No Red or Purple.

 

DRINKS: Soft drinks, tea, coffee, Gatorade, Powerade.No Red or Purple.

 

DO NOT EAT: Fruits, nuts, whole WHEAT (bread, rice, pasta) and NO VEGETABLES!

 

AT 4:00 P.M. TAKE 4 DUCOLAX TABLETS (LAXATIVE NOT STOOL SOFTENERS) WITH GLASS OF WATER.

 

1st MoviPrep DOSE:

 

Beginning at 6:00 PM (Day before procedure)

  • Step 1 - Empty 1 pouch A and 1 pouch B into the disposable container. Add luke warm water to the top line of the container. Mix to dissolve. (If preferred, mix solution ahead of time & refrigerate prior to drinking)
  • Step 2 - The MoviPrep container is dived by 4 marks. Every 15 minutes, drink the solution down to the next mark (approximately 8 ounces) until the full liter is complete.
  • Step 3 - Drink 16 ounces of clear liquid of your choice. 

NOTHING TO EAT OR DRINK AFTER MIDNIGHT EXCEPT FOR 2nd MOVIPREP DOSE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!

 

2nd MoviPrep DOSE:

OSMOPrep For Colonoscopy


**This Prep requires a consent form signature due to a Black Box Warning** 

 

DAY BEFORE PROCEDURE

  • Have a normal breakfast.
  • Have a light lunch around noon.
  • No solid food after 12:00 noon. You may have liquids from noon until midnight. You may also have soft drinks, coffee, tea, popsicles, jello, broth, clear juices, or hard candy).


    Nothing solid after noon!

     

    No Red or Purple. No Milk.

     

    1st OSMOPREP DOSE:


    Beginning at 6:00 PM (Day before procedure)

     

  • Beginning at 6 p.m., take 4 OsmoPrep tablets every 15 minutes with at least 8 ounces of clear liquids (follow the clear liquid diet listed above) until you have taken 20 tablets and 40 ounces of clear liquids.
  • Continue drinking clear liquids until midnight.


NOTHING TO EAT OR DRINK AFTER MIDNIGHT EXCEPT FOR 2nd OSMOPREP DOSE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW!

  • Beginning at 4 a.m., take 4 OsmoPrep tablets every 15 minutes with at least 8 ounces of clear liquids until you have taken the remaining 12 tablets and 24 ounces of clear liquids.
  • DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING ELSE UNTIL YOUR PROCEDURE!

DAY OF PROCEDURE

  • Pour (1) one 6oz bottle of Suprep liquid into the mixing container. Add cold drinking water to the 16oz red line on the container and mix. Drink the full 16oz fo mixture.
  • Drink 2 more FULL 16 ounces of water.

Preparing for EGD or Dilation

 

This is a list of instructions for you to follow if you are having an EGD, Dilation or an ERCP procedure performed by Dr. Bhandari.

DAY BEFORE PROCEDURE

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. 
You may however, take any prescribed medication with a sip of water.

 

DAY OF PROCEDURE

Take your morning medications, if any, with a small sip of water.
